Professional hoops have a diameter of 60 to 90 cm. A special plastic 
composition with polyethylene increases the elasticity and dynamic 
properties of the hoop, helping it quickly regain its round shape after 
deformation during the execution of complex elements. The International 
Gymnastics Federation (FIG) certifies hoops with a diameter from 80 to 90 
cm. The minimum weight of a hoop for senior gymnasts is 300 g, and for 
juniors 260 g. To match the competition leotard, hoops are decorated with 
colorful tape. Multi-colored appliqués and airbrush designs are also 
possible. A layer of transparent tape is wrapped around the hoop to protect

sudden temperature changes.
